Flinders

Behind the historic Ball & Welch façade on Flinders Street, the DCWC headquarters is designed for collaboration, comfort and flexibility and to convey the professionalism of the established brand.

The spatial planning fosters a culture of community and engagement with adaptable working, meeting and breakout spaces. Flexible ‘co-lab’ working areas in the centre of the plan have operable walls that open and close the different spaces as needed. They also connect to a kitchen, dining area and boardroom, with lighting used as a wayfinding device.

The warm, robust palette reflects the esteemed reputation of DCWC. To add a layer of familiarity and comfort to the work environment, we took our cues from residential materials and enveloped spaces with timber and rich hues. A walnut backdrop and a burnt-orange rug distinguish the arrivals area, where our custom-designed high table has a striking Tiberio marble top. Rooms directly behind the façade reveal the historic brickwork to celebrate the building’s history.
