A home with a formidable history as a federation terrace house, Studio CoBe worked to extend and internally renovate the striking residence in East Melbourne.

The focus of the project was to celebrate the character associated with the federation era design, whilst increasing the space, amenity and access to natural light throughout. An important aspect of the design was to maintain the contrasts of old and new, yet still ensure a consistent design language throughout. The warmth of the minimal material palette adds to the feeling of space and light in the narrow extension.
